More About Ed
In 2010, Ed was the Reserve Champion in the Extreme Mustang Makeover (YouTube video) competition presented by The Mustang Heritage Foundation, a competition created "to showcase the beauty, versatility, and trainability of American mustangs." The competition involves training a wild mustang for 90 days before the competition.
In April of 2013, Cincinnati's FOX19 published an article titled Local horse makes big screen debut, which was about Ed's training of the Thoroughbred stallion Arctic Bright View. The stallion was selected as one of the horses that played the role of Silver in the 'Lone Ranger' film from that same year.
On June 26, 2013, The Blood-Horse Magazine, in their Beyond the Blinkers section with Esther Marr, also did an article on Arctic Bright View and his part in the movie, with considerable coverage of Ed and Paul Megson, the late owner of the horse.
Ed was featured on the VOICEAMERICA program Winning Ponies.com with John Engelhardt on July 18, 2013. It's a good interview about Ed and some of the things he has done. The interview show is about an hour long and Ed's interview starts around the 17:25 mark.
On February 4, 2015, Ed was a guest on The Horse Show With Rick Lamb, where they discussed Ed's use of his Equine Analysis and his contention that pain is the root cause of misbehavior in horses. The host played devil's advocate early in the interview and argued with Ed's theory, but was in agreement by the end of the show. The interview lasts about 50 minutes.
FOX19 also did a story about Ed on November 4, 2016 titled Adams County man training rare white Thoroughbred horses to race. It's a good article about getting some Thoroughbreds ready to race.
Ed was featured in The Blood-Horse magazine Blood-Horse Regionals on April 9, 2019, in an article titled Breaking Bad Habits. It's a good article about Ed, the farm and its history, Ed's clinics, and some of the products he has developed. The link will take you to the Blood-Horse website which has a link to the entire article.
